Privacy policy

Overview
This policy explains how 8xN handles information when you use the JOAH app, this website, or JOAH's optional in-person event printing service. JOAH does not require a personal account for its standard photo-booth experience.
Photos and videos
Photo-booth captures, selected photos, and behind-the-scenes videos are normally processed and stored on your device. JOAH accesses the camera only with your permission and adds finished media to your Photos library only when you choose to save it and grant the required access. Standard photo creation does not upload your photos or videos to 8xN.
Optional event printing
At a participating in-person event, you may choose to send a completed still photo strip for physical printing. This upload is optional and occurs only after you select the event printing action. The event's authorized staff may access the completed strip to prepare, troubleshoot, or reprint your order. The event print request also includes operational identifiers, status, and pickup information needed to fulfill it. It does not include your raw captures, behind-the-scenes video, name, or email.
App usage and technical information
JOAH may collect an anonymous app identifier, app and operating-system version, general device information, feature interactions, permission outcomes, and limited performance or error information. We use this information to operate the app, understand which features are useful, diagnose failures, and improve reliability. Analytics events do not include your photos, videos, filenames, file paths, personal messages, or user-entered text. Website and event services may also process routine network and security information, such as an IP address and request details, to provide and protect the service.
How information is used and shared
We use information only to provide requested features, fulfill event prints, maintain security, provide support, analyze app performance, and improve JOAH. We do not sell personal information, use event photos for advertising, or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. We may share information with service providers that process it on our instructions, with event staff who need it to fulfill a print, or when required by law. Service providers that receive user data are required to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable requirements.
Retention and deletion
Completed event-print files and associated guest-session data are scheduled for deletion 72 hours after event submissions close. A physical print already produced cannot be recalled. Content stored inside JOAH remains until you delete it or remove the app. Media that you save to your Photos library is controlled separately through the Photos app and your device settings. Limited operational, security, audit, and analytics records may be retained only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, to resolve disputes, and to meet legal obligations, after which they are deleted or de-identified.
Your choices
You control camera, Photos, and notification permissions through iOS Settings. You can use JOAH's standard creation features without using event printing, and you may cancel an eligible unprinted event job in the app. You may request access to or deletion of information associated with you by contacting us. We may need enough information to locate and verify the request, and some records may be retained where legally required or necessary for security and fraud prevention.
Children
JOAH is not directed to children under 13, and 8xN does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy as JOAH changes. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how information is handled.
